If you search for hitting drills you will come up with this Happy Gilmore Drill. Many people use this drill, and it is a good drill to use.
Rhythm and timing are some of the benefits of this drill.
But be careful.
Things should happen at a specific place in the drill. If not, you are not gaining the full benefit of the drill.
There are 3 physical steps the hitter takes in the drill.
- When the hitter finishes the 2nd step he should be loaded with the knob facing the catcher.
- The 3rd step is just like the stride.
- The front shoulder is still closed when the 3rd step takes place. Don’t let the kids do this drill incorrectly.
